Dedra and I watched Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day (DVD) last night and I mentioned how much I’ve always been drawn to the fashions, music, and general aesthetics of the time period going into the 1940s.  The feature takes place as the specter of WWII looms over England.  Miss Pettigrew, being of age to remember and be greatly affected by WWI, says at one point, “I don’t think I can take another one,” or something to that extent.  Yup.

Photo:  From Camp Mabry’s Muster Day 2006.  I got some shots during the WWII battle reenactment.  Naturally, I noticed the guy who played the part of WWII Combat Photographer.

Thanks for the movie recommendation. We’ll have to watch that.

BTW, that’s a mighty impressive photograph. My parents both fought in WWII and this really evokes the atmosphere of the stories they told.
